Could you describe your project?

The HDC-P31 is around $30,000, too rich for my blood.

Have you looked at the BlackMagic cameras?

How will you switch among these six cameras?

CBTE certification. Planning on doing the CBNE or CBNT. Have always enjoyed attending SBE meetings. I feel we need to work to get more involved in these professional organizations.

Money is an object in my current project. Looking at Sony HDC-P31 box camera or PWX-X400 to go on a Telemetrics Robotics system. About $2500/ea price difference,  adds up over 6 cams. Still deciding which to go with.

I have been a SMPTE member for a few months now, and I thought I would find out what value others get or don't get from a SMPTE membership.

I get the Motion Imaging Journal from their labyrinthine web site which they share with IEEE. Lately they've had articles about video over IP. If I ever want to redesign the TV station I don't own for video over IP, then I'm all set.

What benefits do you get from SMPTE membership? Or is there a reason you have not joined?
